Well,
we missed the Bastille Day celebrations in the morning, as did most
of the village I suspect. This really surprised me as I (and Emily)
expected it to be celebrated with great participation and gusto. At
about 10am we heard music coming from around the corner. Soon after a
gentleman carrying a large French flag on an ornate staff followed by
about 2 dozen people marched (walked) past our window, disappearing
down the end of the street and that was it.
We
headed off to the nearby village of St. Laurent to get to the
supermarket before it closed. There we gathered a few provisions for
the next couple of days and sought out the local bar for a coffee.
We sat there and enjoyed he cooler weather for 30 minutes or so and set off back to Talairan via the town of La Grasse. Once home, Emily made lunch while Kerry cranked up the washing machine. A grand sight is a washing machine after two weeks on the road.

The
girls had a siesta in the afternoon and then we wandered around the
village taking photos and taking in the views of the village. By
chance we wandered past the Le Talairan local so, being good global
citizens, we just had to stop for a drink or two before we stroll
home for dinner. A very quiet day... but the washing's almost up to
date!!
That's a big hug you're giving the Clio, Greg!
